Public Hearing on Bill 30: An Act to Amend the Aurora College Act

The Standing Committee on Social Development, chaired by Ms. Caitlin Cleveland, will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 6:00 PM regarding Bill 30: An Act to Amend the Aurora College Act. The hearing will take place in Committee Room A at the Legislative Assembly building.

Committee is requesting feedback from the public about this Bill. Written submissions can be provided to the Committee Clerk (contact information below) until August 27, 2021.

What areas of the Aurora College Act would change?
-    Aurora College Act will eventually change into the Polytechnic University Act.
-    Creates conditions residents must meet to be a member on the Board of Governors.
-    Gives Board of Governors more authority.
-    Allows the Board of Governors to select and direct the President.
-    Creates new Advisory Councils who make Academic programming and Indigenous Knowledge recommendations.
