From June 13th to 14th, 2022, the Standing Committee on Social Development, chaired by Caitlin Cleveland, will hold public meetings in two communities to talk to residents about housing and homelessness in the NWT.

Members of the public and media are warmly invited to share their lived experiences, ideas and feedback with the Committee at one of the following community meetings:

Tuesday, June 14 – Paulatuk – Paulatuk Visitor’s Centre Boardroom – Supper provided at 6:00, Meeting at 7:00PM

The topic of housing in the NWT is being examined because the Committee agreed upon the issue as its priority for the remainder of the 19th Assembly.

Through this public engagement, the Standing Committee on Social Development will make recommendations about homelessness prevention to the Government of the Northwest Territories in the Fall 2022 Session of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories.

While the meetings are open to members of the public and the media, they will not be broadcast.
