(YELLOWKNIFE) Wednesday, April 1, 2015 – The 2015 Polling Day Act, passed by the Legislative Assembly in November 2014, provides that if as of April 1, 2015 the upcoming federal and territorial election periods are scheduled to overlap, the territorial election is postponed from October 5, 2015 to November 23, 2015. 

As the federal election remains scheduled for October 19, 2015, the date of the 2015 Territorial Election automatically changes to November 23, 2015.
