Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly Launches Procurement Initiatives

YELLOWKNIFE (October 17, 2022) – The Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly has launched three significant contract event opportunities.

The Legislative Assembly is requesting proposals from qualified proponents for the provision of services to design and create a monument dedicated to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) crisis. The monument will serve to “commemorate the lives lost and the lives that continue to be lost in the MMIWG crisis, to bring awareness to the MMIWG crisis, and to provide a space for people to go when they would like to remember lives lost to this crisis.” Phases include engagement with family members of victims of the MMIWG crisis and Indigenous groups in the Northwest Territories, monument design, and manufacturing and installation on a monument on the legislature precinct. This Request for Proposals closes November 3, 2022.

In response to the Standing Committee on Rules and Procedures’ Report on Motion 5-19(2), the Assembly is looking to replace interpretation equipment to improve the provision and accessibility of language services during Session and Committee meetings. This Request for Tenders closes October 26, 2022.

Finally, proposals for cafeteria operations and catering services at the restaurant located in the Legislative Assembly are being sought. This Request for Proposals closes November 18, 2022.

The Assembly extends its thanks to Chris Zouboules for his service over the past several years and wishes him the best on his future endeavours.
