YELLOWKNIFE (May 8, 2023) – The Standing Committee on Economic Development and Environment, chaired by Jackie Jacobson, will hold public meetings in Hay River, Enterprise, Fort Providence, Fort Liard, Fort Simpson, and Yellowknife regarding Bill 74: Forest Act.
The Bill proposes changes to the following areas:
- sustainable forest management;
- wildfire, and the protection of forests, communities and values at risk; and
- the roles and responsibilities of the Government, Minister, Renewable Resources Boards, Renewable Resources Councils and forest management committees.
